These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of EatVerify, a verified food vendor directory operated by Developong Services ("EatVerify," "we," "us," or "our") in Accra, Ghana. By registering as a vendor, browsing the directory, scanning a QR code, or otherwise using EatVerify, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use EatVerify.
1Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract under the laws of Ghana to register as a vendor on EatVerify. By registering, you represent that the business information you provide is accurate, current, and that you are authorised to register the business in question.
2Vendor accounts and verification
- To become a "Verified" vendor, you must submit accurate business information, a valid government-issued ID, and (optionally) a photo of your business premises.
- EatVerify reviews applications manually. We reserve the right to approve, reject, or request additional information for any application at our sole discretion.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. You must notify us immediately at info@developong.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
- For your protection, your phone number, WhatsApp number, and email address cannot be edited directly from your vendor dashboard. This is a deliberate security measure: if your account is ever compromised, an attacker cannot redirect customer payments by changing your contact details. To update these details, contact EatVerify support so we can verify your identity first.
- You may only register a business you own or are authorised to represent. Registering on behalf of a business without authorisation is a violation of these Terms.
3What "Verified" means — and what it doesn't
EatVerify verification confirms identity, not business quality or solvency. A "Verified" badge means that, at the time of approval, EatVerify reviewed the submitted ID document and business information and found them to be consistent and not obviously fraudulent.
Verification is not a guarantee, endorsement, or certification of:
- The quality, safety, or hygiene of food or services provided by the vendor
- The vendor's financial standing, business registration status, or tax compliance
- That the vendor will fulfil any specific order, transaction, or promise made to a customer
- That the vendor's contact details will remain unchanged or active indefinitely
Verification reduces — but does not eliminate — the risk of dealing with a fraudulent business. Customers should always exercise their own judgment before making any payment.
4Payments and transactions
EatVerify is not a party to any transaction between customers and vendors. EatVerify does not process, hold, or have any involvement in MoMo payments, cash payments, or any other transaction made between a customer and a vendor.
- EatVerify will never ask you to make a payment through a third party, link, or agent claiming to act on EatVerify's behalf.
- If anyone claiming to represent EatVerify asks you to pay them directly for "verification," "registration," or any other service, this is fraudulent. Report it immediately to info@developong.com.
- Any dispute regarding payment, order fulfilment, refunds, or product quality is solely between the customer and the vendor. EatVerify is not responsible for resolving such disputes and is not liable for any resulting loss.
5Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information during registration
- Upload an ID document that does not belong to you or that has been altered
- Impersonate another vendor, business, or person
- Attempt to access, modify, or interfere with another vendor's account or data
- Use EatVerify's QR codes, branding, or "Verified" badge outside of your legitimate, approved profile
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download vendor contact information for unsolicited marketing or spam
- Submit false fraud reports with the intent to harm a competitor or legitimate vendor
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with EatVerify's security measures
Violation of these rules may result in suspension or permanent termination of your account, in addition to any legal remedies available to us.
6Fraud reports and investigations
- Anyone may submit a fraud report regarding a suspected fake or fraudulent vendor listing, with or without an EatVerify account.
- EatVerify reviews fraud reports and may suspend a vendor's "Verified" status pending investigation.
- We may share relevant details of a fraud report with the vendor whose business name was impersonated, to help them protect themselves and their customers.
- Submitting a knowingly false fraud report is prohibited and may result in account suspension and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement.
7Content and intellectual property
- You retain ownership of the business information, descriptions, and photos you submit, but grant EatVerify a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display this content on your public profile, in the directory, and on your QR code page, for as long as your account remains active.
- The EatVerify name, logo, QR code design, and platform are the property of Developong Services. You may not reproduce, copy, or use them outside of your approved EatVerify profile without written permission.
- You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any content (photos, descriptions) you submit.
8Fees and plans
EatVerify currently offers a Free plan and a paid Pro plan (GHS 40/month) with additional features. Fees, where applicable, are disclosed at the time of purchase. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Fees already paid are generally non-refundable except where required by Ghanaian consumer protection law.
9Suspension and termination
- We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or otherwise pose a risk to the platform or its users.
- You may close your account at any time by contacting info@developong.com.
- Upon termination, your public profile and QR code will cease to function. Certain records (fraud reports, audit logs) may be retained as described in our Privacy Policy.
10Disclaimers
EatVerify is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure, or that verification will catch every instance of fraud or impersonation.
11Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Ghanaian law, Developong Services and EatVerify shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of EatVerify, including but not limited to:
- Any transaction or dispute between a customer and a vendor
- Fraudulent activity by a vendor or third party, whether or not that vendor was previously "Verified"
- Service interruptions, data loss, or security incidents
- Reliance on information displayed on a vendor's profile
Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of EatVerify shall not exceed the total fees you paid to EatVerify in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or GHS 500, whichever is greater.
12Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Developong Services, EatVerify, and our officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the platform, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
13Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of EatVerify shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.
14Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made. Continued use of EatVerify after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using EatVerify.
